Rise above it. Harnessing the good energy, block out the bad. Harness energy block bad. Feel the flow happy. Feel it. It's circular. It's like a carousel. You pay the quarter and on the horse. It goes up and down and around. Circular. Circle with the music of the flow. Okay. Thanks a lot. Nice to meet you, man.
SPEAKER_11It's Cup and Larry, and you're listening to the O'Brien and Doug podcast to buy MotorMultimedia.com.
SPEAKER_08Welcome to the O'Brien and Doug podcast demo Brian. Hi and dog. It is episode 296. Long time no team, my friend.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, it's been all like 10 minutes. Right. Woo!
SPEAKER_08I uh have to admit that I forgot it was a double rehearsal. I think we all did. We we had uh so so we just came from band rehearsal, two band rehearsals, actually, back to back. Um we showed up for a what do they call it? Non-horn. Star City Syndicate rehearsal without the horn section. And uh that went very well. Yeah. And then people started packing up, so I start packing up, and Chris is like, oh, by the way, we're we're sticking around for you know uh skinny elvis. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_10I forgot.
SPEAKER_08So we just literally got done wet.
SPEAKER_10Well, it originally was going to be a skinny elvis or I thought so too, yeah. And then it got switched, and then they were like, oh, well, let's do both, and I'm like, I'm very confused. Yeah, I'm gonna go sit down.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. And I did, but it worked out. No, it was fine, yeah. It was long, but it was but it was it was good. We literally just kind of got in minutes ago. So um how you doing? I know we we go to rehearsal and everything, I don't get a chance to talk to you. Everything good?
SPEAKER_10Yeah, okay, good.
SPEAKER_08We just we had just end up going.
SPEAKER_10It's my it's my usual, you know, hate the world, hate hate being. Yeah, caffeine and hate. Oh, caffeine and that's my brain now. That's right, caffeine and hate. Yeah, I just every time I just I just get depressed.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_10Everything's stupid.
SPEAKER_08Look, give me what what set you off lately?
SPEAKER_10Nothing. It's just it's just everything is dumb. People are protesting algae.
SPEAKER_08I mean that is dumb.
SPEAKER_10What it what what I mean, you know, have we devolved that much?
SPEAKER_08Yes. Yes, we have to.
SPEAKER_10We have to, you know, cheer on algae? I mean, come on, man.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. We got bigger things to it's it's because the algae is in uh um whatever that body of water is called. The reflecting pool. The reflecting pool while Trump is in office. So they have to they have to protest.
SPEAKER_10I don't I just don't get it, man. And then, you know, it's friggin' you know, TikTok is stupid and people are evil and the it just oppresses me, man.
SPEAKER_08So so you mentioned TikTok. What what sets you off with TikTok? I mean, I know it's stupid, and it has been for just people on TikTok. Yeah.
SPEAKER_10They're dumb. Have you seen these people? I don't have influencers? I don't have to. They're not just it's not just TikTok. It's Instagram. No, no, it's Instagram. I mean uh influ the influencer culture. Yeah, yeah, it's crazy. It depresses me. Yeah. You know, it's like, where are you, Jesus? Right. Why why haven't you come and taken us away? Right. You know? Yep.
SPEAKER_08No, I hear you.
SPEAKER_10You know, I'm just I'm just done, man. I'm just so like, ugh.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_10So done with everything.
SPEAKER_08So that's the name of the podcast, Caffeine and Hate. Caffeine and Hate. Caffeine and Hate. You think we'll get any clicks on that? I hope so.
SPEAKER_10Uh I gotta find out what's going on here. So, yeah, I haven't been sleeping well, so I'm living on a lot of caffeine, so yeah.
SPEAKER_08Well, uh, speaking of uh that, speaking of uh influencers and and whatnot, so my son sends me a video that he made.
SPEAKER_10Which son are we talking about? Finn. Okay.
SPEAKER_08So he's you know, he he has his own business and he works a lot all the time. And he was really proud of uh he he said, Look at uh what my girlfriend made me for lunch. So she she it's like meal prep. Oh so she he showed and I was like, that's pretty cool. You got you got a good one there. So yeah. And then he sends me a video that he made at lunchtime. And he's telling me he wasn't videoing himself eating. He was showing off what his girlfriend made him for l for lunch. Okay, and then he ate it. He videoed himself eating it. Oh goodness. And I said, You don't have TikTok, do you? He's like, No. It's on YouTube. Okay. Because keep in mind, when he's home, all he does is watch his guys on YouTube. Now, one of the reasons that Finn has a successful business right now is because he watches his guys. Oh, that's fine. But they're influencers. They're they they're business owners, right? And they film their day-to-day operations. And that's where he learns a lot of stuff.
SPEAKER_10Well, that's fine, but I don't need to watch you frickin' eat. I know. So that's a private thing, man.
SPEAKER_08What did I say? I said what did I I said I think I said something like, um I'll tell you exactly what I said. I'm not gonna show you the video because I don't think you want to see it.
SPEAKER_10I have no interest in saying it, sorry. Uh I love Finn, but I have no interest in watching that boy eat.
SPEAKER_08So I said, Do you have TikTok? He said, No, I deleted it anyway. It's on YouTube. I said, What is the purpose of the video? Just funny. And I was like, okay.
SPEAKER_10We have very different very different definitions of funny.
SPEAKER_08But I I I I understand your ire for this culture. I mean, it's all me.
SPEAKER_10I don't know. They I mean I don't even I don't even like calling it culture anymore because you know, culture, you know.
SPEAKER_08It's a lack of culture.
SPEAKER_10Well, it's a it's uh, you know, culture denotes that there's something good.
SPEAKER_08Right.
SPEAKER_10You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_08And well here's the that's not good. Here's here's the thing. We have we have people that we know that um do that kind of thing um because it serves a purpose. It's sad that it serves a purpose, and here's what I mean. Um I saw a thing the other day, uh there was a country singer who was um up and coming. Uh I knew I knew his name. I mean I knew so that's how up and coming he was. He's he's he's in the the the what do you call it? Echelon. Not upper middle echelon, right? Right. And so he's up and coming. And he said, listen, is this written to his fans on Instagram? He said, I'm done. He said you have to keep up with Instagram, TikTok. Uh you have to get clicks. That's how people get record deals, by the way.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, clicks.
SPEAKER_08The amount of clicks.
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_08It's not talent. It's not talent, it's just clicks. Right. And this guy was like, I I'm not chasing that anymore. I wouldn't either. I don't want to. He says, I'm just gonna play shows. If people want to come see me, they can come see me, and you you won't see me posting, you know. I mean, I might post an update or whatever, but I'm not going to make a funny video uh just to get clicks. Yeah. Which is what people do. And people do use it, and uh because it is, unfortunately, in this day and age, a tool to sell a product or business.
SPEAKER_10Yeah. I mean, I don't mind you because I make videos sometimes and you know, just just to be stupid. Yeah. I don't I don't mind that kind of stuff. But when you when you're trying to hawk something or you're trying to present something like a lifestyle or something, I'm like, I'm not interested.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_10I don't care about your lifestyle.
SPEAKER_08Right. Well, often just shut up and leave me alone. Often those things are are sponsors. Yeah, well, I mean they're look at what I'm wearing. That's great.
SPEAKER_10They're hawking some sort of product, you know, some sort of product placement.
SPEAKER_08And they get paid for it.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I get it. And I mean, I I you know, if that's how you make your living, I mean, more power to you, but you know, I I just I'm just so tired of it, I guess. I don't know. No, I hear you. I'm just like, I'm just very depressed about it, and I just want to be like, yeah.
SPEAKER_08How do we cheer you up? Tell us how to cheer you up.
SPEAKER_10I'm gonna go home. That's what I want.
SPEAKER_08All right. All right. That's episode. That was a good pod, guys.
SPEAKER_10See y'all later. I'm O'Brien. Bye. Bye, everybody. Okay. Well, I'll finish the podcast. Then I'll go.
SPEAKER_08Okay. All right.
SPEAKER_10I'm out of here, Damien. All right. You can take it. I just love that part of that movie. Tell me you have to find a doctor to take it out again. What movie? Wayne's World. Oh. When they're fighting on the hood of the car, and all you get is just see a mouth that words.
SPEAKER_08You're so much better at remembering that stuff than I don't know.
SPEAKER_10I just that just sticks in my head. I don't know.
SPEAKER_08Um couple things I want to do today. Uh first I want to tell you about my trip. Uh so I took a trip to Boston. Oh, yeah, that's right. Um we left Eli and I left uh Sunday afternoon at like three. And we got done. It was a late start, but we were we're staying at um my family's camp in Shapley. Right. So we got there about nine thirty, something like that, and just basically just went straight to bed. Yeah. Because we got up at 5 30, because I wanted to I he had to be there around nine o'clock at at Wentworth uh Institute of Technology in Boston, right downtown Boston. And you know, there are there are things that you could you could take a train into Boston from Portland, I think.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, the the what do they call it? The clipper. Yeah, something like that.
SPEAKER_08You can do that. You can there's a couple of you can Yankee Clipper, I think. You can go into Boston Park and then take a subway over to over to Wyworth. Yeah. Um but I chose just to drive in downtown Boston.
SPEAKER_10That may have been your worst trial option.
SPEAKER_08It wasn't as bad as I thought. I mean it was it was it was stressful.
SPEAKER_10Because driving to Massachusetts is just a nightmare anyway. In Boston, if you look at a map of Boston, yeah, you're like It's crazy. Who made who made these streets?
SPEAKER_08Right.
SPEAKER_10How drunk were they?
SPEAKER_08Right. You know what I mean? Yep. I mean it's just crazy. So we got up at 5 30 and we hit the road, and we got there. Well, I think we got there a couple hours early. No, wait. No, because I w we got we hit rush hour traffic.
SPEAKER_06Oh, good.
SPEAKER_08And we ended up getting there maybe it was like an hour early. Something like that. So we walked around. We went to the basilica and went in to see the the church, and he was like, Whoa, and you I should show you pictures, dude. It was awesome. It was amazing. Um anyway, so we went back and he we met his roommate um and uh his roommate's dad and I talked a little bit and then we said, You're good? Good, we're leaving. So he got back on the train, I went back to my car, and I drove two hours back to camp. Actually, no, I drove two hours back to South Portland um while he was because he was staying the night at Wentworth. And so I went to South Portland and I met up with my sister and I took her out to lunch, surprised her, was pretty pretty cool. Um and then I went to Guitar Center and I spent like 45 minutes in Guitar Center. Yeah. It was glorious.
SPEAKER_10Oh, I bet.
SPEAKER_08I bought a hat. It's upstairs, I'll show you later.
SPEAKER_10You went to Guitar Center and bought a hat.
SPEAKER_08Bought a hat. Yeah, because uh I couldn't afford anything else.
SPEAKER_10That's a good that's valid. Yeah, yeah. Um should have got a t-shirt. I went to guitar center, all I got was a stupid shirt.
SPEAKER_08Well, that they did have t-shirts there, but they didn't have any my size. Wow. It's all for like little little kids. Um losers. Yeah, so um, and then I went to uh the bookstore. I bought a book. Um Clint Clint Black uh biography, autobiography, bi autobiography. And then I went to Bull Moose in Scarborough, and then I went to Bull Moose in Biddeford, and then I went back to camp and was got there about four o'clock. It started pouring about three thirty. And you don't know my camp. It's literally a log cabin. It's like like not like not like a new log cabin. They built it in 1934, something like that.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, it was pre like modern stuff.
SPEAKER_08There's modern, it's it's modern now because my wife's cousin uh is the one that runs it now. There's a TV and there's I mean it's the amenities. But the the structure itself is logs. I mean it's you know, and so I'm I'm in there and I'm I'm laying in bed and it's just boring. And I think the roof is gonna come in on top of me. Anyway, I don't know why I'm telling you that. Um so and then I got up the next day and drove back to Boston by myself with no navigator, and picked him up, and then we came back and it was good. It was it was it was uh a long a lot of driving, uh, but I got to crank my music, you know, and and uh it wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be driving in Boston. Yeah, it was still stressful.
SPEAKER_10Well it's not right in Boston, right?
SPEAKER_08No, it was right in B. Oh, it's right in Boston. Right in Boston, yeah. Okay. Uh matter of fact, so we um used the map on our phones or whatever, and he I had Eli on the way down as a navigator. So he's like, you gotta take this road, you gotta take this road. Okay, so and then we pull in, we get to the parking garage, and he then we drop him off, and I have to get out. So I type in uh my phone, Wells Main. You know, like I want to get to back to Wells Main. Right. And so it says, All right, go this way, go this way. And then Siri's talking to me, he's like, take this next left and head into downtown. I'm like, why are you taking me downtown? I didn't come through town, but she took me right down to town Boston. And then I had to find Route One and go up again.
SPEAKER_10Oh, yeah, right in downtown. Yeah, I don't know why it does that, because it did it to me when I went to Boston a couple years ago for Chris's wedding.
SPEAKER_08Right.
SPEAKER_10And I was like, when I left, I was like, I'll just, you know, just backtrack basically.
SPEAKER_08Right.
SPEAKER_10But it was like taking me like weird directions. What the where did what is wrong with you, Google? Yeah, it was it was being stupid. Yeah, I don't, I think it's just Boston itself. I mean, it's like it's finding the easiest route, but it's like, why don't you just why don't it just give it me just backtrack the way I came?
SPEAKER_08Right.
SPEAKER_10That seemed to be pretty easy. Yeah, you know, I don't know.
SPEAKER_08Um anyway, one of the things I picked up, we won't play it today, I don't think. But I picked up a new game. Oh, you did? I did. What is it? Uh it is it's not I don't know if it's a game per se.
SPEAKER_06Looks like a game.
SPEAKER_08But it is something that we could um really kind of sink our teeth into. Um 50, uh it's it's called hypotheticals. 50 questions for insane conversations.
SPEAKER_10Oh, I like that.
SPEAKER_08So I'll just give you an example. Um let's see. You are offered a brain pill that will make you 10% more intelligent, but you will seem 20% less intelligent to everyone else. Do you take this pill? So there's the conversation. I like it. Yeah. Uh here's another one. These are all on the back of the box, so if we get to them, we just won't read them. Uh, you are in an unfortunate situation in which you are forced to consider cannibalism in order to stay alive. Would you rather eat babies or elderly people? I'll read two more. How would your mother answer these questions? Oh wait, no, never mind. That's not it. This isn't this is the last one. I know what your answer's gonna be on this too. Suppose you wake up inhabiting Bruce Springsteen's body. Your voice sounds just like Bruce's, but your music ab musical ability is still entirely your own. You're scheduled to perform in a huge concert that night. What do you do? Right? So these are, I mean, I thought it was kind of neat, and we could just we could find a funny one and go off on it and kind of kind of a conversation starter. I like that. Whatever. Yeah. So hypertheticals. Hypertheticals. And I did get that from Boom Moose, too. All right. Alright. So um you noticed that uh the basement isn't done.
SPEAKER_10I did.
SPEAKER_08I have worked on it. Let's see. I actually had a hard tire, harder time getting to the love seed than normal. Right, because some of this stuff was over there. Right. I brought it over here. So that part's clean. Well, there we go. Progress. No, I've spent a few days in the basement so far, and it's a matter of going through stuff and and deciding what to keep and what to throw. So I I have made some progress. Not much, but I have made some progress. Tomorrow I'm working in the basement all day. Uh haven't touched this room except for adding to it. Um, but hopefully tomorrow I'll be able to get through some more things and move some things around. And I it's it's not gonna be done by the end of June. I'm hoping it's done by the time I go back to school at the end of July.
SPEAKER_10Well, that was the timeline I set for you. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Because that was more realistic. I think there will be progress made if I if I adhere to that. So um, but you know, today I spent all day playing guitar, trying to get ready for practice because I'm out of practice. Uh tomorrow we'll be in the basement. Friday, I'll play some more guitar because we have a gig Friday night. So I need to uh brush up on some of those songs. And then I know that Finn has basketball games all weekend. It's a Prescott Invitational or something like that, so we'll be we'll be busy with that. So anyway. Um I had a couple of things from Ultimate Classic Rock, but I also had Bob. Did you see the the thing that um Bob asked us about Rush?
SPEAKER_10Which Bob? R Bob?
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_10Oh, no, I didn't see it.
SPEAKER_08You didn't see it. Okay, so he had he had a kind of a neat uh question uh and he shared his and we haven't shared ours, so I figured that maybe we could Because sharing is caring. Sharing is caring. It's in the Tomcat thread. You didn't see that in the Tomcat thread?
SPEAKER_10I might have and just like I'll get back to this later, and then didn't.
SPEAKER_08Okay, so uh let's see.
SPEAKER_10Because I was, you know, being influenced to buy laboo boos or something.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_10Have you seen those things?
SPEAKER_08Yes.
SPEAKER_10They are the friggin' ugliest things, and people are going crazy. Yeah, it is laboooboo. Well, there's a there's like three things. There's a lafufu, but that's not No, I've never heard of a lafufu or a babu. Well, they're fake laboo boos, but that's what people call them. Yeah, I haven't heard of a laboo boo. I've heard they uh it it's bait you know the Where the Wild Things Are books? Yeah, the the preach it's based on that.
SPEAKER_08Okay. My daughter calls them something else.
SPEAKER_10She calls there there's There's probably other things, but that's that's what caught my eye, and I was like, because people are just going, they have vending machines full of them.
SPEAKER_08So crazy.
SPEAKER_10And these like resellers like camp out and they buy them all, and there's like there's like fights breaking out over There's cabbage patch kids. Yeah, it's it's basically the 80s and the cabbage patch kids. Right. Yeah. I'm like, geez girl, we just devolve when it comes to stuff like this. We really have. It just you know, here we have, you know, in our pocket, we have a computer that's way powerful than what we used to send people to the moon in '69, and we're still fighting over stuffed animals. Right. That are evil looking. Yeah. I don't get us. I don't get us as a species.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_10That's why aliens don't come here. They just they just look at us and go, oh man, those guys are effed. Roll the windows up, Marge. We gotta keep going. Just keep driving. Don't don't make eye contact with these people. That's why I don't believe in aliens.
SPEAKER_08So you don't believe in aliens?
SPEAKER_10I don't believe in aliens. I believe in UFOs, but I don't believe in aliens.
SPEAKER_08So I was just reading the uh mixtape question because I forgot to pick a song as usual.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I did too. What is the question?
SPEAKER_08Um oh wait, we shouldn't we should uh wait.
SPEAKER_10We're getting sidetracked.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, we're getting sidetracked. Um so Bob Bob. Bob So Bob posed a question because we he talked a little bit about uh how uh the whole Anakin Niles thing with Rush was was awesome, and I agree. Uh maybe was it is is awesome. Sorry. Uh he said more important question love to know you and Doug's top ten rush songs.
SPEAKER_06Oh that's a good one.
SPEAKER_08So before we do that, and we'll I'll I'll live allow you time to think about that. Uh on those same along those same lines, uh Ultimate Classic Rock has a headline, What are the big four of Rush albums?
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_08So let's start there. Okay. Okay.
SPEAKER_10Uh I I hate it when they put the put the answers and what they put in the in the I don't know that they did. I haven't. Yeah, I bet I guarantee you they did, because those are two awesome albums. Actually, three awesome albums.
SPEAKER_08Okay. I really can't say anything because I don't know You can't see what the fourth was the Rush albums. Uh I mean I know them, but I don't know any of the any of the album cuts or anything like that. So uh I I'm familiar with a few of the albums, so I'm gonna refrain, but I want to hear your top four uh rushes.
SPEAKER_10Well, it's gonna be these ones that they're showing right now.
SPEAKER_08Okay, whatever.
SPEAKER_102112.
SPEAKER_08Is this in order or just 2112?
SPEAKER_10Yeah, moving pictures. Moving pictures? Fly by night. Fly by night. I don't know what that other one in the corner is. I don't know if I agree with that or not.
SPEAKER_06This one right here is moving pictures.
SPEAKER_10No, no, the one on the upper right. Yeah, that one. I don't know what that is. I can't tell from here. Oh, I think that's uh Roll the Bones? That's not Caress of Steel, is it? I don't know. That's Caress of Steel. That's not on my list.
SPEAKER_08Okay, so what's your fourth one?
SPEAKER_10Uh I don't know. Uh to be honest with you. Uh maybe signals. I like the signals album. Which one is subdivisions on? Signals.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Because I love subdivisions. Yeah. So you said 2112. Yeah.
SPEAKER_10Moving pictures, moving pictures.
SPEAKER_08Fly by night by night, and signals. Signals. Okay, those are your four. Those are my four. Okay, according to Ultimate Classic Rock, uh Fly by Night.
SPEAKER_10Well, that was the first one with Neil. Okay. So that makes sense.
SPEAKER_08Um 2112?
SPEAKER_10Yeah. That's obviously.
SPEAKER_08Oh, farewell to Kings.
SPEAKER_10Oh, that is a good album.
SPEAKER_08Would you put that?
SPEAKER_10No, I I wouldn't put it in my top four, but I like that album.
SPEAKER_08Okay. Uh Moving Pictures. Yeah, Moving Pictures is awesome. Yep.
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_08So that's their top four. Yeah. Um, I I really can't answer it because I mean I know I I might be able to answer my top ten Rush songs. Right. Uh, but I can I can't answer that one because I don't know them well enough yet. So let's do that.
SPEAKER_10I like the Roll the Bones album too.
SPEAKER_08Because it's that was a more modern sounding one, right?
SPEAKER_10Well, it was it it was like that period in the 80s when they were in the 80s they were really synth heady heavy.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, and Alex didn't like it.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, and Alex didn't like it, but Roll the Bones was more like back to rock and roll. Right. Less synth and more guitar.
SPEAKER_08Right.
SPEAKER_10So I like that album. That that has and I love the song Roll the Bones.
SPEAKER_08I do too.
SPEAKER_10So it's a great song.
SPEAKER_08Um I just want to see what other songs I might know on that album. Uh let's see.
SPEAKER_10Is Andre new on that album? No. Does it give a track listing somewhere?
SPEAKER_08On Wiki. Wiki. Wiki.
SPEAKER_10Wick it, wick, wiki, wick.
SPEAKER_08There it is. There it is. Roll the Bones, uh, Where's My Thing? The Big Wheel. You know what? The funny thing is is Roll of the Bones is the only song I know on that album.
SPEAKER_10One of the other songs.
SPEAKER_08Dreamline, Bravado. Good song. Face Up. Where's My Thing? The Big Wheel. Yeah, it says that, actually. Heresy, Ghost of a Chance.
SPEAKER_10Ghosts of a Chance is awesome, dude.
SPEAKER_08Neurotica, you bet your life.
SPEAKER_10Ghost of a Chance is a great song.
SPEAKER_08Um so many great songs. Okay, so let's let's um let's do this. Uh Rush. Because I might need to um Do you want to do top five, not top ten?
SPEAKER_10Well, Bob did ten, so.
SPEAKER_08Did he?
SPEAKER_10Yeah. Well, did he do ten? I thought you said he did ten.
SPEAKER_08Well, he's he did. I'd love to know your top ten. Let's see what he did. Yeah. He did uh we'll equal Bob, whatever. Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. Yeah, he did. Okay, so we'll have to do ten. He did. Okay. So do you want to just hear Bob's first? Yes. Okay. Because I may agree with him a little while. So I wonder if I should have some of these ready to go. Um, well, working man.
SPEAKER_10Not not on my topic.
SPEAKER_08He thinks it just kicks ass as well.
SPEAKER_10That's yeah, it's it's a good song, yeah. No doubt about it.
SPEAKER_08YYZ? Yes. Um, Xanadu.
SPEAKER_10My YYZ is the Exit Stage Left version.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_10It's a live version from Exit Stage Left. Okay. That would be my version.
SPEAKER_08He says YYZ, almost everything on moving pictures is gold.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, that is true.
SPEAKER_08Okay. Xanadu. He loves the drum fills.
SPEAKER_10They are good.
SPEAKER_08Uh Time Stand Still. He loves the harmonies with Amy Mann. Yep. Uh there's she's not singing harmony, but that's okay.
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Uh Subdivisions. Great song. The Camera Eye.
SPEAKER_10Not one of my favorites.
SPEAKER_08Uh Lavia Strangiato.
SPEAKER_10Great song.
SPEAKER_08Says Discovered This in College. Love the constantly changing compositions. Dreamline. Yep. He says he likes several songs from Roll the Bones, but this is still a favorite. Far Cry.
SPEAKER_10Oh, Far Cry is so good.
SPEAKER_08And The Garden. Last song on the last album made with Neil, very somber sounding too.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, no. Not one of my favorites, but it is a good song.
SPEAKER_08Okay. So uh go ahead.
SPEAKER_10What are you what what are what are your ten top ten? 2112. Okay. The whole the whole side. Okay. Side one. Okay. That's 2112. The whole the whole suite.
SPEAKER_08Right. Gotcha.
SPEAKER_10Uh subdivisions. Love subdivisions. Uh Spirit of Radio.
SPEAKER_08Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_10Love that song. Yeah. Uh The Wreckers from the last one. Oh, that's a great song. Great song. Yeah. Uh Roll of Bones. This is an awesome song. Uh Working Them Angels.
SPEAKER_08Oh, that's a new one. That's a newer one, right? It's new-ish. Is it from Snakes and Arrows?
SPEAKER_10Uh I think Snakes and Arrows. Um don't quote me on that. I think, yeah. But it's around that area. Okay. Okay. Uh Far Cry. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Awesome. Yep.
SPEAKER_10Um.
SPEAKER_08And this is no particular order, by the way. Animate? No.
SPEAKER_10One of my favorite. No, it's no order. Not anymore. Animate. I know I'm missing a ton of them. Did I say subdivisions already? Yes, I did. What else do I love?
unknownWhat else do I love? What else do I love?
SPEAKER_10YYZ. The uh stay XA stage left version. And I can't there's so many. One more. Um Entree New Entree New. Entree New.
SPEAKER_08That's my ten. So mine Again, I don't know a lot of Rush. But I can tell you what my favorite ones are. Far Cry. Yep. Uh Subdivisions. Yep. Spirit of Radio. Yep. I like New World Man.
SPEAKER_10That's a good song. Um I get that in analog kid uh confused sometimes when they come on.
SPEAKER_08Uh I do like Roll of Bones. Yep. Free Will. Free Will's a good song. Um Fly by Night. Um Fly by Night. Mm-mm-mm. Limelight. Again, these are the songs that you'd hear on the radio, right? Yeah. Oh, uh no, distant early warning. Oh, that's a good song. Yes. Um I like the trees.
SPEAKER_10The trees is cool.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. It's different.
SPEAKER_10I I would put them in number 11. I would put The Trees and By Tor and the Snow Dog as equals.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_10So that would those would be my tie for 11th song.
SPEAKER_08So that's my top ten. Yeah. Um so that's kind of cool.
SPEAKER_10Actually, man, if I kept going, then Necromancer is kind of a cool song.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_10That was that was when they were stopped doing uh they started that was Cress of Steel, which is not a great album. Right. But it was a it was a cool concept because it's more like it's very Lord of the Rings.
SPEAKER_08Yep. Uh but uh if you had to um introduce someone to Rush, um what is the song, a song that you would recommend?
SPEAKER_10Well you're gonna you're gonna start with Tom Sawyer.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_10You gotta you're gonna start newbies with Tom Sawyer.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_10Just saying.
SPEAKER_08So so give me one that is not obvious.
SPEAKER_10Not obvious?
SPEAKER_08Yeah. For yeah, one that you that that you love, but it's not a not one that many would know.
SPEAKER_10I w I would I would I would point somebody to Road to Bang uh Road to Bangkok.
SPEAKER_08Road to Bangkok.
SPEAKER_10It's it's not one of their better songs, but it's kind of a cool concept.
SPEAKER_08Okay. Let's just kind of let's just go into it a little bit here. Passage to Bangkok? Yes, passage, sorry.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I suck with names. So it's okay.
SPEAKER_08My name's Chris.
SPEAKER_10What?
SPEAKER_08Said my name's Chris. That's not why. I think it's funny.
SPEAKER_10Uh there's a song called It's a later song. Uh something Tai Shen, I think.
SPEAKER_08Tai Shen?
SPEAKER_10Yeah. It's another Chinese. It was inspired by Neil's bicycle trek across China.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_10I think that's the name of it. Something Tai Shen.
SPEAKER_08Tai Shan?
SPEAKER_10Taishan.
SPEAKER_08Tai Shan.
SPEAKER_10Yeah. That's a that's kind of a cool song. I think it's on uh what is that? Hold your finger?
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_10Yeah. This was kind of a cool song because it was it was for me, it was like a really weird departure.
SPEAKER_01So, it's funny to me.
SPEAKER_08Um you know how there's um Do you remember when the the two guys there Beavis and Butthead? No, no. Paul Bob and Doug? No, Paul uh Paul and Jason? Yeah, Paul and Jason. Um holy cow. Jason Siegel? Yeah, and Paul. Paul Rudz. Rudd. Thank you. Uh that bit that they did and where where Neil comes out and he's gonna there was actually like a seven women there. So Rush. Obviously, Rush led.
SPEAKER_10You ate Mr. Pierre sandwich.
SPEAKER_08The majority of their audience is male. Yeah. Right. Do you think because of and I I think it is, it's gonna have an effect, because of Annika Niles. Do you think more women are gonna go? It's possible, but Rush is still gonna be Rush. For sure.
SPEAKER_10But what I'm saying is, uh Well, I mean it's a little more people will look at it and be like more acceptable.
SPEAKER_08I I saw like, you know how people have been videoing, right? Yeah. A lot of the video is just Annika. Well, no, a lot of the video that I'm seeing is uh a woman's video.
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Like she's like she's filming Annika.
SPEAKER_10Well, the president of their fan club is a woman. Right. She's like obsessed. Right. Rush.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_10She was in their uh that documentary they made of their last tour, Time Stand Still. What what was her name? I can't think of her name. Dark haired woman. I can't think of it. But anyway, yeah, she's in charge of their fan club and she organizes in a rush con and all that stuff.
SPEAKER_02So yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_10So it's probably, I would be, if it was her, if it was anybody, it was probably her. Right. But yeah, but I mean, yeah, I mean, women that are are not already rush fans can look at them and be like, oh, they got a woman drummer. I'll check these guys out.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_10But rush songs are still gonna be rush songs.
SPEAKER_08Yes, that's true.
SPEAKER_10You know, you gotta be, yeah, it's nerd rock.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_10I'm sorry, it's nerd rock.
SPEAKER_08It's math.
SPEAKER_10I mean, it's prog rock. All prog rock is math.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_10You know what I mean? Yeah. So it's just like, but yeah, but I mean, if you want to just, but if you want to deep track stuff, you're gonna find a lot of gems because Neil, I mean, Neil's a master with words. Yeah, he really is.
SPEAKER_08Yep.
SPEAKER_10And you listen to these songs, you're just like, wow.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_10I never thought of making a song like that. It's or using those words in that order. You know what I mean? It's just like, you know, people should really just deep.
SPEAKER_08It's a story. Each song is a story. It is. Yeah.
SPEAKER_10Yeah. They're wonderfully crafted.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_10Um back in the early days, have you seen like uh pictures of like his original, like when he writes songs? Yeah. He he would draw like pictures to go like like the like the title of the song, there would be a like picture involved and stuff like that. Right. I mean, the dude was just amazing.
SPEAKER_08So we talked about your favorite band. I want to talk about my favorite band just for a second.
SPEAKER_10Boring! No, I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_08Only because I saw this headline. I haven't read the article. Okay. Uh Van Halen's No Brown MMs rule will soon become reality temporarily.
SPEAKER_06Are you getting rid of brown MMs? I don't know. What uh what because they look like rabbit poop? Let's see, let's read it.
SPEAKER_08Um A decades old candy.
SPEAKER_10Did you read Bob's top ten or did you just count them? I don't remember you mentioning it. Yeah, I did. You mentioned all of them? All of them. You did? Yeah, I think so. Why don't I remember that?
SPEAKER_08Uh yeah, I said working man, YYZ, XANA do, time stands still, subdivisions, the camera eye. Oh, yeah, okay. You're right, my bad. Yeah. Um anyway, back to brown MMs. So a decades-old candy will undergo a major change in summer, mirroring a storied piece of rock and roll lore. MM's maker Mars will commemorate the product's 85th anniversary by relaunching the candy in August without artificial dyes.
SPEAKER_06Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_08The Wall Street Journal reports RFK. Yeah, but the switch to natural coloring will come at a price as brown and blue MMs will reportedly be excluded from the initial FDNC free lineup that will soon be available on Amazon. While Mars was able to recreate red and yellow dye with natural sources such as beets and turmeric, blue and brown proved much more difficult and costly to replicate. It can be done with spruolina extract, a blue-green algae and superfood that can cost anywhere from $20 per pound in its raw form to $100 per pound in its concentrated form. So there's an update on this though. This story has been updated to reflect that brown and blue MMs will be excluded from the initial FDNC free lineup that will soon be available on Amazon. Mars will not remove them permanently.
SPEAKER_10Well, they're probably just doing it for a while and then going back by the sounds of it.
SPEAKER_08Right, but if if they weren't they ordered to remove the dyes?
SPEAKER_06I don't know.
SPEAKER_08I don't either. Anyway.
SPEAKER_10I'm not I'm not a politician. I don't really care. I don't know why. Um I don't know what this has to do with Van Halen. It does. Other than the just the brown MM kind of story, you know.
SPEAKER_08Uh the other uh story from uh Ultimate. Oh, it's Buddy Guy! Yeah. Check this out. Buddy Guy is gonna celebrate his 90th birthday with an all-star concert in New York City. Check out who is going to be at the concert. Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Tedeski and Trucks, uh, John Batiste, Allo Black, Joe Bonamasa, Clark Gary Clark Jr., Shimikia Copeland, Robert Cray, Samantha Fish, Eric Gales, Billy Gibbons, Ivan Neville, Robert Randolph, Bobby Rush, Isaiah Sharkey, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jimmy Vaughn, Ali Venable, Willie Weeks, Kim Wilson, uh, Steve Jordan of the Rolling Stones will serve as the evening's music director.
SPEAKER_06Of course you will.
SPEAKER_08And they better document this. This this is going on a DVD or or art stream.
SPEAKER_10It's gonna be streamed. Pay-per-view or something like that. Yeah, that that that is like the who's who of blues rock.
SPEAKER_08Blues rock, yeah. Absolutely. 90 years old, dude. That's amazing. That is amazing.
SPEAKER_10I don't know. What is it with these blues guys living like these long, long lives?
SPEAKER_08I don't know.
SPEAKER_10I don't know.
SPEAKER_08Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_10I mean, you know, but uh how old was uh BB was BB was like eighty something, eighty something.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, something, yeah.
SPEAKER_10You know, buddy guys, ninety. I wonder how old son house was when he passed.
SPEAKER_08I don't know.
SPEAKER_10He was probably pretty old. That dude, that dude looked old.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Um let's see. I want to go back to this because yeah, no, that's that's all I wanted to talk about. So I haven't picked any of these yet. So let's try and let's try and do this.
SPEAKER_10Let's put on some music because it's really good. This music. That music. This music.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Yeah. Alright.
SPEAKER_10Let me get some neon.
SPEAKER_08I have not picked these yet. So let me just kind of take a look at them.
SPEAKER_10Do they still make boom boxes? Like that.
SPEAKER_08They do. Um I think they're special editions, though. I I don't think they make them.
SPEAKER_10I'd like to get one and just walk around like the 80s, you know, run it on your shoulder.
SPEAKER_08Wait, I think we've done this one. I think we've done this one. Have we done this one too? See, I I went through these and and and because I can't. Yeah, I thought you went. I did. I can't I can never tell if we've if we've done them. This one I think we have not done, but we'll we'll see. Um I don't know if we've done I think we might have done that, but I don't know. And I'll do this one. Well, I'll just do these, and if we've done them, then are you ready? I'm ready. A boy trades his telescope for a girlfriend. The hint is they ride on a lawnmower. Oh, uh, Can't Buy Me Love. Can't buy me love. That's the one. That's a good movie. We haven't done that before. No. Okay. Yeah, that is a great movie. I love that movie. Uh, too bad about her.
SPEAKER_10She passed away. Yeah, what the frig? She couldn't have been that old.
SPEAKER_08She wasn't. Yeah. Uh and it was years ago that she that she passed away. Yeah. She was very young. Yeah. Um a teen goes on a road trip with his elderly friend. The hint? Through time. 1985. Back to the future. Back to the future. We haven't done that, right?
SPEAKER_10Well, he didn't he didn't actually go, though.
SPEAKER_08Right. Well, he did, though. No, he did. Like he went back, right?
SPEAKER_10Not with him.
SPEAKER_08No.
SPEAKER_10Well, at the end, technically.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_10But the mo the movie is about him going back in time.
SPEAKER_08Right.
SPEAKER_10So.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, so we should we should write them a letter.
SPEAKER_10Back in time.
SPEAKER_08Write them a stern letter.
SPEAKER_10Yes. Well, I'm I I'm very irate with you. Movie, movie, movie game people. Poor poor poor movie.
SPEAKER_08Whatever it is. All right. A taxi driver gives a baby some advice. Okay. The hint is the kid won't shut up. 1989.
SPEAKER_10Is this uh look who's talking? Yes, it is.
SPEAKER_08Okay, now this one I think we may have done. Okay. Uh, but I'm gonna I'll try, I'll try it anyway. Uh, students put their feet up on the furniture.
SPEAKER_10Dead Poet Society. Yes. Had we done that before? I don't think what was the hint?
SPEAKER_08Uh their teacher is honored.
SPEAKER_10Nope, we haven't. I don't think we've done that one. No? Okay, good. Good. Well, there you go. Uh you got four in a row. Dead Poet Society? Great movie.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I showed that to Eli not too long ago. Oh, yeah. And he really liked it. It's really good. Yeah. It's one of those ones that I should think should be required viewing. It's good stuff. Absolutely. So um. Do we want to do we want to read this before we do it? Well, we have to do the I I I know, but do we do we want to read it?
SPEAKER_10Oh, wait, let's let's let's do it in order. Checklist. Alright. Let's do it in order. Are you ready?
SPEAKER_05Not to be a stickler, but it's time for everyone's favorite part of the show. With everyone's favorites, O'Brien, Doug, Cousin Larry, and yours truly, Miss Judge Ness, Judge Ness, Judge Ness. It's time to play mixed tape.
SPEAKER_08Alright. So let's first do.
SPEAKER_10She doesn't she doesn't have a recorded one this time. Okay. She's fine. That's fine. So I have to read it. Oh, great. I know it's boring. Uh hey, hey! So my recording didn't go through. I'll send the words instead. This week was great for mixtape. I had to go with Doug's pick, Voodoo Child. That sounds like it would be an interesting private concert and get to ask the artist questions. About the song. Nice. And then she goes on for she gives us her answer for Smash or Trash.
SPEAKER_08Okay, well hold that thought. Well I'll hold that off. Hold that thought. Alright. So that's the past. That's the past. Congratulations to you. Uh the present. You're excited for your first date with a new love interest. After waiting nervously at the restaurant for some time, you realize your date stood you up. What song do you play on the way home?
SPEAKER_10Oh, I gotta do Cousin Larry.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, because I I I'm I'm struggling for this one. I have mine. You have one? Did you just think of it?
SPEAKER_10Yes. As you were reading it, I was like, Okay.
SPEAKER_08Trying to think of it.
SPEAKER_10Like that little egg timer in my head went off.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_10Okay. So Cousin Larry, you know, is a huge Red Sox fan.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_10So. I'm driving home from Denver after watching last night's Red Sox implosion. I thought I should pull over and send my mixtape answer. I thought uh Ricky Nelson stood up, stood up, and Eric Carmen's all by myself, and also Gilbert and Sullivan's alone again. Naturally. But with apologies to the Blanchard children, I thought Billy Idol's dancing with myself would be funny. Honorable mention to Genesis' misunderstanding.
SPEAKER_08What is what why is he apologizing to the Blanchard? What is that song about? What is he what does he mean? Oh, I don't know. We know what you mean, it doesn't matter. We did this song. Come across and did this song. Did we? Yes, we did. Not very well. Um I'm gonna let this play underneath, but I just want to say, so we you and I had our last gig of the of the spring. Uh last Saturday.
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_08And uh it was at uh restaurant over in Caribou. We gave it a second chance. And uh I mean it was It was actually fun just because of Wendy. Well here's the thing. So it would it would have been rough.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, it would have been it would have been it would have been even rougher than the first time, yeah.
SPEAKER_08It was it was people just weren't listening. No, they didn't care.
SPEAKER_10No, they didn't care, could have cared less.
SPEAKER_08Um and so we did have a friend show up and she requested one of our songs, and then we proceeded to play uh our entire album, aside from two songs. Yeah, but then we threw in other songs that are gonna go on our next album. So we had about 45 minutes or so of all our original stuff. Yeah. It was a lot of fun. It was fun. Uh I really enjoyed it. We stopped caring and we just played. And the fact the fact that we remembered most of them.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, that was pretty impressive.
SPEAKER_08That was pretty impressive. Yeah, I thought.
SPEAKER_10I mean, I can't remember the name of rush songs, but you know, I can remember the lyrics to songs we wrote 30 years ago. Right. You know, I don't get it.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Alright, so dancing with myself, Billy Idol. What is your song? You're excited for your first date? You got stood up. What is your song?
SPEAKER_10I think I have one, by the way. Mine is I Hate Everything About You by Ugly Kid Joe.
SPEAKER_08Oh, actually, it's just everything about you. Yeah. Yeah, there is. Done! Stood me up. D UN!
SPEAKER_10Done! I I hate you. Um that's your mind. Of course, I'm not in a very loving mood anyway. So this may have not been a good quest tweet for this quest. Actually, you know what? I'm putting this in the skinny Elvis then.
SPEAKER_08So to do it? You mean? Wouldn't that be fun? That would be fun. Alright, so here's mine. That's a commercial. Hold on. So I just thought of this just now. And so it it may not be I don't know.
SPEAKER_10Oh, good song, man.
SPEAKER_03You can tell everyone I'm a don't disgrace. Drag my name all over the place. I don't care anymore. You can tell everybody about stay on me. She won't catch me crying, cause I just can't win. I don't care anymore. I don't care anymore. I don't care. What you say? I don't play the same games. You play Cause I'm in Tony.
SPEAKER_08Okay, so that's mine. Phil Collins. I don't care anymore. Um Everything about You from Ugly Kid Joe uh before that. And uh what did we say that was uh Cousin Larry's? I forgot.
SPEAKER_10Uh Billy Idol.
SPEAKER_08Oh yeah, Billy Idol Dancing with myself. Dancing with myself. So there you go. Um that is the uh present. Do you have a future? I do. Okay.
SPEAKER_10This is a good one. I think it's a good one. Let's do it. I know we've never done it before, so it's interesting. Best locker room, get crazy, paint your face with animal print, psych up song before the big game. Uh-huh. That should be interesting. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08The Rose by Batmidler, I guess.
SPEAKER_10Something up. You know, somebody punches you and puts you in the water.
SPEAKER_08Alright, so there you go. Um we're going to take a break. We'll come back and we'll do uh Wall of Tune Smash. Smash your trash! Smash your trash! Smash your trash!

SPEAKER_03And we back.
SPEAKER_08Let's uh back it up. Because we're we're we're we've changed uh wall of tunes, but let's let's get going. Hit the thing. Yeah.
SPEAKER_11O'Brien and Doug's wall of to Smash.
SPEAKER_03Smash our trash edition.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Yeah. Okay, so last week's um album that uh I chose um was Kenny Loggins Leap of Faith.
SPEAKER_10I played a couple songs on it and it's it's pretty We fell asleep and then we then we woke up and finished the podcast.
SPEAKER_08Um so uh your vote was to Trash. Trash. Um Bob Lam uh Bouncing Bob. He says, uh my vote is trash. Though Kenny Loggins is a favorite of mine, it is not what I call a Kenny Loggins type of music. Uh let's see, Kenny performed in Rangely, Maine in 2014. The day before the concert, Kenny was in the Red Onion restaurant in Rangely, where one of the waitresses asked him if he was going to go to the concert the next night. He said he wouldn't miss it for anything. And then he says, Backup singing from Michael McDonald, Cheryl Crow, nor Smokey Robinson could save this album. He's right. Yeah. He's not wrong. Okay, sure. So that's two votes votes for trash. Yeah. Uh and what does Miss Judge?
SPEAKER_10What is what did Cousin Larry say?
SPEAKER_08Oh, I I didn't heard of here from Cousin Larry.
SPEAKER_10Oh, he didn't get back to you?
SPEAKER_08Nope. Not about this one. I don't think. Anyway. I'll double check.
SPEAKER_10Because he means anything to me.
SPEAKER_08Um that's okay, because you know we know who listens to the uh podcast now.
SPEAKER_10Let me double check for Nope.
SPEAKER_08The last Smash or Trash was the quiet right one. So I have not heard from it.
SPEAKER_10He did get a kick out of our Mickey's the Antichrist bit, though. Did he tell you that? No. He's like, so on Thursday I was listening to the podcast at work with my earbuds in, and I am dying of laughter listening to the Mickey Mouse's the Antichrist bit. I'm sure everybody thought I was certifiable. I played it for my wife today, and we both cracked up.
SPEAKER_08Um also no word from Kariani from Jeff. So he hasn't weighed in and Kelly doesn't listen. We know that now. We know that's a fact. She she maybe she listened to one episode and yeah, well, I saw her at practice on Sunday. Yeah.
SPEAKER_10And I I was gonna say something, and I was like, nah. Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_08So we've only had uh your vote, bouncing Bob's vote, and my vote, which I'm saying.
SPEAKER_10Here's the judge's vote.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_10Uh her judges says Where did it go? There it is. Okay. By the way, she loves smash and her trash. Oh, good. She loves it. Good. Okay. So, uh okay. As for Smash or Trash, I have to say trash. Some of the music sounded pleasant to just relax and listen to, but if it isn't something you see yourself listening to nowadays, it's trash.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. So I I get that. I mean, and that's valid. My vote is also trash. All right. As much as I love a few of the songs on this album, um, there's a song for his son called Cody's song, which is just beautiful. Yeah. And as a dad, you know, and it's it's a great song, but yeah. Um yeah, it's trash. Okay. So that's two on the tra in the trash. So we're oh for two. We're oh for two.
SPEAKER_10It's been no no smash, all trash. Oh, no smash. So if you want to pick up this album, just go down to KMH Music. Right.
SPEAKER_08Some at some time in the near future.
SPEAKER_10It'll be there for you to uh enjoy. If you if you're into that, you want you want some sleepy time music by Kenny and Loggins?
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_10Nah, that's the perfect choice.
SPEAKER_08I have an album. All right. Uh we are going to smash or trash.
SPEAKER_06Smash or trash, smash or trash, smash our trash.
SPEAKER_10It's Gordon.
SPEAKER_06It is Gordon.
SPEAKER_08Don't let this song fool you.
SPEAKER_12If he loves you.
SPEAKER_08This is actually a beautiful song, but let me just kinda give a sample.
SPEAKER_10Oh, that's a great song.
SPEAKER_08You forget sometimes how much amazing music he has. Yeah. It's just sting. Post police.
SPEAKER_09Beautiful song. That's a great song. Fields of gold. Oh, this is a great song. Beautiful song.
SPEAKER_10This is a great song.
SPEAKER_12You remember when we feel you forget us in a jealous sky as we fucking feel so good.
SPEAKER_08I'm just gonna keep kind of going down the list here. This is uh called All This Time. Not gonna play every song. Let me do this one. I love this song. This is called Fragile. Ever heard this one?
SPEAKER_10I don't know.
SPEAKER_08Wait till the little uh classical guitar part starts. You'll probably recognize it. Yeah, yeah. Uh do you remember this one? This is in the in the uh middle of the Cold War.
SPEAKER_09It's called Russians.
SPEAKER_08It's called Russians.
SPEAKER_09Okay.
SPEAKER_08I used to have uh 45 of this song. Oh, yeah. It was a B side. Oh. Uh and the hit the hit was on the other side. But this is uh actually I'm gonna play you my favorite sting song of all time.
SPEAKER_10Yes, Fortress Around the. I agree. This is this may be my favorite sting song.
SPEAKER_08So this album is called Fields of Gold, 1984 to 1994, The Best of Sting.
SPEAKER_12Under the rules of the wall.
SPEAKER_10I mean, his ego is bigger than your house, but I mean, the dude makes some good music. Oh man. You gotta give it to him. He backs it up.
SPEAKER_08Um Shape of My Heart. That's a great side. Did you ever hear that song that uh uh he did with Eric Clapton that was on the Lethal Weapon? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a great song.
